From February 2018, Apple now require our Brokerapps customers to have their own developer account to distribute your app to iTunes. Previously all Brokerapps were released under our licence but Apple no longer permit this. Android apps are not affected.
For all new Brokerapp projects we will need you to establish your developer account in the first two weeks while we are building your apps.
For existing Brokerapps customers – Apple reserve the right to review existing apps at any time and may remove your app from iTunes for various reasons. Should Apple decide to remove your app due to the change in policy we typically get 30 days notice. During this period we will notify you as soon as possible and guide you in the process to create your own developer account so we can transfer your app to the new account. Not all existing apps will be able to be transferred depending on how long ago we built the app. Some cost may need to be covered however we will advise on a case-by-case basis.
Opening an Apple Developer account
Allow 5-7 days to finalise your account with Apple. Please note that Apple charge USD$99 a year and this is a direct cost to you.
There are two types of developer accounts, Individual and as an Organisation, you should choose the Organisation option.
If you’re enrolling your organisation, you’ll need an Apple ID as well as the following to get started:
A D-U-N-S® Number
Your organisation must have a D-U-N-S Number so that Apple can verify your organisation’s identity and legal entity status. These unique nine-digit numbers are assigned by Dun & Bradstreet and are widely used as standard business identifiers. You can check to see if your organisation already has a D-U-N-S Number and request one if necessary. They are free in most jurisdictions. Learn more http://dnb.com.au.
Legal Entity Status
Your organisation must be a legal entity so that it can enter into contracts with Apple. Apple do not accept DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, or branches.
Legal Binding Authority
As the person enrolling your organisation in the Apple Developer Program, you must have the legal authority to bind your organisation to legal agreements. You must be the organisation’s owner/founder, executive team member, senior project lead, or have legal authority granted to you by a senior employee.
Your organisation’s website must be publicly available and the domain name must be associated with your organisation.

Please note that the transfer of the app to your own developer account does not mean that you have access to the source code of the app. App updates and content changes are still required to be completed by Brokerapps and the app cannot be further developed or unpackaged in any way.
